AgroStar: Building India’s AI-Led Farming Future

In Indian agriculture, challenges are rarely textbook. A yellowing leaf, uneven crop growth or a sudden pest outbreak can signal very different problems depending on soil health, weather patterns, region and season. Farmers are not short of information. What they need is timely, reliable and context-specific advice that works on their field, in that moment, and at scale.
This is where AI is quietly transforming outcomes on the ground at AgroStar.
Through the AgroStar Farmer App, farmers can upload simple photographs of their crops or soil. Our AI analyses these images to identify root causes across diseases, nutritional deficiencies, pest infestations and crop stress. It then recommends precise remedies, crop nutrition and crop protection advisories tailored to the farmer’s crop, region and season.
But the impact goes beyond one solution, one farmer, one moment.
Every resolved query becomes structured knowledge. AI converts these solutions into reference posts inside the app, creating a growing, reliable advisory feed for farmers facing similar issues. Today, over 50,000 AI-powered advisory posts form a foolproof knowledge base, built from real farm problems across diverse Indian climatic conditions and crop cycles.

Technology alone is not enough. That is why our agronomy experts and agri-advisory teams work behind the scenes, stepping in whenever images are unclear or require deeper expertise. AI scales insight. Humans ensure accuracy, trust and context.

“Combining multi modal inputs from farmers to enhance inference, and superimposing additional datasets and deep domain knowledge to bring precision to the solution, has been the key to successfully deploying solutions that are meaningful and easy to use,” said Sunil Jain, Chief Technology Officer at AgroStar.
The results reflect real change on the ground. AgroStar’s technology ecosystem has reached over 12 million farmers across India, enabling timely, data-led decisions at scale. This impact is visible in outcomes that matter most to farmers, with 81% reporting an increase in farm yield and 73% experiencing a tangible improvement in their quality of life.
This is what leveraging technology at scale truly means. Not replacing human judgement, but amplifying it. Not chasing buzzwords, but solving everyday problems farmers face, season after season.
Because when AI is rooted in reality, it does more than predict outcomes. We drive growth by #HelpingFarmersWin.
